My name is Valeria Larios, I am a junior at South Gate High School. I grew up in South Gate with my parents and two younger sisters. I’m the oldest amongst my siblings so I’ve always had a big responsibility.

I have many hobbies such as cooking, baking, painting, and playing instruments like the clarinet, guitar, piano, and trumpet. One of my biggest interests is reading and writing, but I’ve never pursued anything in until now.

This is my first year in Journalism and I’d like to be successful in publishing our work and bringing our community together. I enjoy writing and learning about different people’s perspectives. I think my goal by the end of this year is to have gotten to know a little bit more about everyone at our school including staff members.

I want to be a voice for everyone who has an opinion about our school and advocate for those who can’t. I look forward to becoming more familiar with everyone and establishing our own community as Journalists.
